Tung's Acupuncture Masterclass Workshop Series

Tung’s Extraordinary Acupuncture System (TEAS) represents an ancient divergent approach to acupuncture that has been handed down within the Tung’s Family until the mid-20th centuries.

In 1962, the only lineage holder Master Tung, Ching-Chang decided to break ancestor’s policy and release TEAS to the world by taking disciples outside of his family and publishing a book about TEAS.

Through tremendous efforts of his 73 disciples, especially Dr Young, Wei-Chieh, it has been brought to many countries with eminent recognition and consummate interest of learning because of its excellent clinical efficacy.

Workshop description

This series of workshops is intended for practitioners who are seriously passionate for receiving comprehensive training (small group & hands on) of genuine Tung’s Acupuncture System from Dr Michael Chung, one of the most intimate disciple of Dr Wei-chieh Young, the direct and genuine lineage of Master Tung.

The whole series of workshops are designed with 4 segments, following the sequence of the levels of Human, Earth, Heaven and the Dao.

Each workshop is well designed to include comprehensive introduction of selected points, with small group hands on practice of the point locating and needling techniques, associated theories and clinical therapeutics with case studies. (see details below)

For the quality of teaching, only dedicated and serious participants* will be accepted and allowed to enter the next level upon the completion of previous levels.

About the instructor

Dr Michael Chung is a registered Doctor of TCM (Dr. TCM) in British Columbia of Canada. Since 1998 he established his own TCM practice in West Vancouver, BC. He received his B.Sc. in Pharmacy from Taipei Medical University, Taiwan; MSc and PhD in TCM from the Tianjin TCM University, China.

Dr Chung has been teaching in TCM and Naturopathic schools in the US and Canada since 1995. His professional knowledge of both TCM and western medicine, and his personal attributes have made him a well-known TCM practitioner in the both the Chinese and mainstream communities.

Michael has studied TEAS (Tung’s Extraordinary Acupuncture System) for more than 27 years with Dr Young, Wei-Chieh. He is one of the few intimate students of Dr. Young and was adopted as a disciple in 1991. He is considered as one of the major successors of Dr. Young and a dedicated educator of Tung’s Acupuncture.

In the last three decades, he has applied TEAS in treating patients and shared the teaching of TEAS in Taiwan, China, US and Canada. In recent years he has not only taken roles as Dr Young’s English translator during well-attended seminars, but also co-taught for many workshops in Australia, Germany, Malaysia, New York, Los Angeles, Portland, San Jose, Guangzhou and Taipei.

He has been invited by the Ordre of Acupuncture of Quebec to conduct the full series of Tung’s Acupuncture workshops, from the foundational-entrance level to advanced studies of Tung’s Acupuncture System. So far approximately more than 200 Quebec acupuncturists have received his teaching in Montreal.

Some Highlights Of This Newly Designed Tung's Acupuncture Workshop Are:

  • Workshop Style - Not a seminar. The emphasis is on interactive & hands-on learning experience so students can apply knowledge correctly straight away in clinic
  • Small Class Teaching - designed so all students can get personal instruction from Dr Chung
  • Hands On Practical - practice locating each Tung point and recommended needling technique to achieve maximum results
  • Live Demonstration - Dr Chung will demonstrate every single Tung point that he teaches during the workshop
  • Specialty Therapeutic Teaching - treatment protocols for specialty areas eg: fertility, dermatology, soft tissues & pain and more
  • Clinical case studies - Learning through shared experience. Every participant submits 2 cases which either have great success or failure to achieve results with Tung Acupuncture... the class then gets to brainstorms & discuss with the instructor for greater understanding.
