Stroke Patient with Hemiplegia Treatment - Dr James Lu

Why Create This Course?

Why Create This Course?

The prevalence of stroke and brain injuries continue to increase each year. There often are long lasting sequelae from these injuries including physical, cognitive, language, and behavioural deficits.

The focus of this course is to provide clinicians with a “hands-on” experience, including acute bedside rehabilitation, efficient and effective body mechanics, spasticity assessment and treatment, disorders of consciousness, behaviour management, perceptual deficits, cognitive impairments, medical complications after stroke/brain injury and more.

This course will emphasise on an integrative treatment approach for stroke and brain injury by combining various styles of neuro-acupuncture and evidence-based rehabilitation. Clinicians will be more effective and efficient practitioners by integrating techniques covered in this course.

The material will be presented via an interactive didactic course format. In addition, discussion and active participation in case presentations/patient demonstrations related to clinical practice will engage the audience.

You will gain an increased appreciation and confidence of effective treatment that can help your clients’ recovery of function.

This course is directly related to the practice of medical neurology, acupuncture, physical therapy, occupational therapy and athletic training.
