Dr James C. Lu, licensed Acupuncturist and Physical Therapist, has been in the medical profession for over 18 years. He has worked as the director of rehabilitation and senior physical therapist in a variety of settings including hospitals, rehabilitation and private clinics.

About Dr James Lu

Dr Lu's primary experience has been in the realm of orthopedics, stroke rehabilitation and pain management. He holds a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from University of St. Augustine and a Master’s of Science from American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. 

In 2003, James completed advanced training in the manual therapy and received his certification from University of St. Augustine. In 2004, he was certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialty as an Orthopedic Specialist. Through his study and experience, James found that by combining acupuncture with rehabilitation patients are able to gain the maximum potential with recovery and suffer minimum pain. 

Since then, he has dedicated his career to this integrative treatment approach. In 2011, Dr Lu initiated the first outpatient acupuncture program in Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) and has extended the acupuncture services to the pre- and post-operative inpatient care for patients with cardiac and thoracic surgeries. 

In 2014, this integrative approach was introduced to the Bayshore Acute Rehabilitation to facilitate the recovery of stroke, surgery or other illnesses. Besides being specialized in orthopedics and stroke rehabilitation, Dr Lu also has extensive experience in treating gastrointestinal, neurological, gynecological and allergic disorders. In addition, James is also a National Champion in Chen Taichi for 5 consecutive years in China and USA.
