  • 23 years of clinical experience working closely with stroke and various neurological patients.
  • Pioneered the first acupuncture program at the Hospitals Corporation of America (HCA), one of the nation’s largest healthcare services (total of 184 hospitals) in the United States.
  • Pioneered acupuncture programs for pre- and post-operative ICU in-patient care for patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgeries.
  • Recently completed a 21-month research project on “Scalp Acupuncture in the stroke program” conducted by San Jose State University at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Dr James Lu is a licensed Acupuncturist and Physiotherapist and has been in the medical profession for over 20 years. He specialises in neurological and orthopedic conditions and combines his unique background of Western medicine and Acupuncture in his treatments. Through his study and experience, Dr Lu found that combining acupuncture with rehabilitation enabled maximum potentials for patients’ recovery, with a minimum of pain. He has, ever since, dedicated his career to this integrative treatment approach. Dr Lu has bridged the gap between Acupuncture and Physiotherapy and brings this combined approach to many different clinical settings such as rehabilitation centres, hospitals and private practices. It is this extensive knowledge in both Acupuncture and Physiotherapy that makes Dr Lu a highly sought after lecturer for Acupuncturists. He has taught numerous seminars all over the world ranging from Acupuncture Orthopedics, Psychiatric Disorders and Stroke and Spinal Cord Disorders.
